10,480 pounds sold during Solar Salt Spectacular!
On Saturday, August 29, SMSU SIFE conducted our annual Solar Salt Spectacular! Again, this year was a successful fund raiser with about 10,480 pounds of salt delivered and sold to the supportive people of Marshall!
In other words, we sold about $1400, much of which will go back to support the team! We would like to say thanks to HyVee for providing the salt for us to sell and to everyone that bought salt for supporting their local top-ranked SMSU SIFE team!
We had a great showing from the team. Two members from our Business Advisory Board even showed up! Initially, we split into three teams in order to maximize our effectiveness. Casey and myself delivered the pre-orders while the two teams started in different neighborhoods with the door-to-door selling!
Here is the breakdown of sales:
- Scott: 1920 pounds
- Stacy & Tessa: 1560 pounds
- Luke: 1200 pounds
- Sunshine: 1000 pounds
- Tim: 960 pounds
- Jeff: 480 pounds
- Guilliaume: 440 pounds
- Jeana: 440 pounds
- Casey: 320 pounds
- Shannon: 120 pounds
A very big thanks to all the team members that took time out of their weekends to help us! Everyone made an extraordinary effort to raise funds for our team to maintain our high national rank!

Wow…when you put into perspective of pounds sold, we lifted an incredible amount of salt! Way to go team!
