Adopt-A-Highway clean-up!

Last Monday, our Environmental Sustainability director, Stacy Bottolfson, organized our very first Adopt-A-Highway trash pick-up! It was a great turnout with 21 members on our stretch of highway 59 cleaning up trash.

We would like to thank all of the members who came out and are actively participating in SIFE! Our students have busy schedules and so it was wonderful to see how many of them were willing to donate a bit of their time to help the environment!

Not only was it pleasure to serve our Marshall community and make the town that much more clean and enjoyable, it was a wonderful opportunity for members to meet each other and learn a little about everyone. It was very much a bonding experience for the entire group.

And the best part? The time flew by because everyone seemed to be thoroughly enjoying each other’s company!

In order to add some extra energy to the event, Stacy offered prizes to the two volunteers that found the weirdest and the biggest item of trash. We had Sam win for largest object with a huge panel of wood and Carla was awarded the weirdest object prize when she found a miniature saw!

Luke was able to capture the event on video and Tim took some time out to snap pictures of SIFE members in action. Check out some of the pictures below!

Again, we would like to thank the members for taking part in this event and we hope to see everyone for our second clean-up in the spring!
