How Quickly Your Life Changes with SIFE

This may sound cliche but SIFE really has changed my life.  My life would have probably changed anyway, but more then likely stayed pretty close to the same.

As a freshman, I wasn’t sure if I could handle extra curricular activities and still keep up with classes. For that reason I didn’t join SIFE until a quarter way through my 2nd semester. My life changed from that moment!

I went to a meeting, had dinner with last year’s president, Sunshine, to help explain SIFE more and as the expression goes I was off to the races after that.  More SIFE members introduced themselves and I began to help them with projects. Some projects were teaching elementary children and presenting in front of a group, while others were needing people to participate. Not long after, we went to Nationals in Philadelphia.

Within this short period of time I made a ton of new friends, was voted to be this years Free Market of Economics Director and I received a paid internship because of my involvement in SIFE.

Now that classes start in this next week I’m starting to work on my main projects Cards Across Cultures and Global Xchange Game. This year these two projects will be combined to form one super project.  Stay tuned to the website for updates on how the projects are going and to see what events are coming up for the SIFE team!
