This Week in SIFE- March 19th through March 25th

Hello all SIFE-ers,

It is time once again for your weekly SIFE Meeting Updates. This is a very exciting week for SMSU SIFE. Read ahead for more details and discover new ways to get involved!

Friday March 19th

• 12:30 pm- Bring Your Own Lunch in CH 105- The Core Office is open at 12:30 to allow students a relaxing and stress free place to eat. Here you will enjoy good food, good conversation, and good people. End your school week right with SIFE!

Saturday March 20th

• 11:00 a.m – 7:00 p.m- Accounting Club and SIFE Book Store Grand Opening- Join  SIFE and the Accounting club as we hold the Grand Opening of the Book Store. Everyone has worked really hard to set up the store and gather over 5,000 books! The Book Store is located at the Village, across the street from the Freedom Gas Station.

Sunday March 21st

• 1:00- Leave for Minneapolis- The time has come… COMPETITION. Our team has been working hard all year to prepare for this weekend’s events. Our crew will be meeting outside of Founders Hall to carpool to the cities where we will compete to be Number 1 in the Region!

Monday, March 22nd

• Regional Competition- This day will be filled with SIFE activities. The team will be in the cities scoping out competition, representing SMSU, and, of course, taking the first place trophy! The Regional Competition is an all day event. We will return home in the late afternoon.

Tuesday, March 23rd

• 11:50- Leadership Meeting in CH 105- This weekly meeting is where Directors, Coordinators, and Project Managers meet to discuss the SIFE week ahead. Each week these meetings have different topics and is when we discuss some of the most important parts of SIFE.

Wednesday, March 24th

• 11:00- Job Fair Prep Party in SC 137- Our Personal Success Director, Kim Boom, along with career services, is holding this event to get students ready for the Job Fair. This is a come and go event. Take advantage of this SIFE opportunity to help you become ready for the “real world”. For more information contact Kim Boom at kimberly.boom@smsu.edu
• 12:00- Taxes Financial Seminar in CH 201- Once again our Financial Literacy team has created yet another great Seminar. This seminar will teach you all you need to know about Taxes in a fun and hands on way. Everyone is welcome, so bring a friend… or two! Presenters are still needed, if interested or need more information, contact Jeana at jeana.watts@smsu.edu
• 3:30- Sustainability in CH 105- Our SMSU SIFE team continues to grow and expand. Help the team continue to develop at these meetings. For more information contact Tim Kortsmit at tim@kortsmit.com
• 6:30- Entrepreneurship in CH 105- Our team is working on the Let’s Get to Business Legacy project. Help the team brainstorm ideas and become apart of one of SIFE’s biggest projects. For more information contact Jeff  at Jeff.Schemmel@smsu.edu

Thursday March 25th

• 4:30- Ethics in CH 105- The Ethics category is working on the Unity and Diversity project. Join these meetings to be apart of the action and help the project develop. For more information contact Shannon at Shannon.Rekker@smsu.edu
• 6:30- Team Meeting in SC 249- This meeting is the largest SIFE meeting each week . Here, we will all discuss upcoming events and opportunities, so don’t miss it!
